Wingen Bakery

Livermore

In every community, there are businesses that do more than serve great food or provide a welcoming space. They help shape the culture of the town around them. They show up for their neighbors. They stand beside marginalized communities when it matters most. In Livermore, Wingen Bakery has become one of those places.

As part of the Livermore Pride Passport, we want to celebrate the local businesses that actively support LGBTQ+ people, not just during Pride Month, but all year long. These are the places we encourage our community and allies to visit, support, and invest in. Wingen Bakery is proudly one of those stops.

From the very beginning, Wingen has stood with Livermore Pride. They have been sponsors and supporters since day one, helping make LGBTQ+ events and visibility possible in our city.

“Wingen Bakery is an LGBTQ+ Ally. We are a Livermore Pride Sponsor and a safe space for anyone in the community who identifies. Discrimination has no place at Wingen Bakery. We stand up for and support our LGBTQ+ community as a business and as individuals and that will never change.”

That kind of public support matters. It matters especially in moments when businesses are pressured to stay silent or back away from inclusion. Wingen chose the opposite. They chose community. Beyond their advocacy, Wingen Bakery has also become one of Livermore’s most beloved local gathering spaces. Founded by Bryan and Aimee Wingen, the bakery began as a cottage operation run from their home during an incredibly difficult chapter in their lives. After losing their daughter Waylynn to Zellweger Syndrome, the family poured themselves into baking and building something rooted in care, connection, and community.

Today, Wingen has grown into a vibrant downtown restaurant and bakery known for its sourdough breads, pastries, breakfast, lunch, and pizza nights. But what truly makes the space special is the atmosphere they’ve intentionally created: warm, welcoming, community-centered, and inclusive. Supporting businesses like Wingen Bakery is one of the most direct ways we can strengthen the kind of Livermore we want to live in.

When you spend your money at a Pride Passport stop, you’re supporting businesses that support people. You’re helping ensure that LGBTQ+ youth, families, and community members can continue to see themselves welcomed and valued in public spaces across our city. So the next time you’re planning a Livermore outing, make Wingen Bakery one of your stops. Grab a pastry, enjoy brunch, meet friends for pizza, or simply sit in a space that has made it clear everyone belongs. Because Pride is built not only through marches and celebrations, but through the everyday choices communities make about where they gather, who they support, and how they show up for one another.
